Post Bills: Culture and Capital in San Francisco - 2016

In late 2014 I received an email from the San Francisco Arts Commission that offered a new, temporary category of grants: rent grants for arts organizations. Given the year’s earlier events, the arts commission, which is well known for its funding of public art, arts education and performances, jumping into rent stabilization held an unsurprising but unfortunate tenor.
